Monday 17 March – Friday 21st March 2008 starting and ending Glasgow city centre

GBP 586.00 per person* including two nights bed and breakfast accommodation at the Port Charlotte Hotel on Islay and two nights B&B stay at the Dowans Hotel, Aberlour, mini-coach travel, Islay ferries, expert guiding and entertainment from Jock Shaw (a Scotsman and whisky connoisseur who is fluent in Dutch and English), and the entrance fees to distilleries.

 

Monday leave Glasgow at 09.00 via Loch Lomond and Inveraray, take the ferry for the Island of Islay; check in at the Port Charlotte Hotel for a relaxing evening

Tuesday visit the Ardbeg Distillery – special tour with five whiskies, stop for lunch in Bowmore, visit the Bunnahabhain Distillery; stay at the Port Charlotte Hotel

 

 

Wednesday depart Islay by ferry from Port Ellen, travel across Scotland to the Dowans Hotel, Aberlour, Speyside
 

Thursday visit the Glenfarclas Distillery for a Connoisseur Tour of six whiskies, break for lunch at the Highlander Inn in Craigellachie, travel to Gordon & MacPhail’s Benromach distillery at Forres for an afternoon tasting; return to the Dowans Hotel for a ‘whisky cabaret’ with Jock Shaw

 

Friday leave for Pitlochry, Perthshire (visit to Robertsons Whisky Shop); tour Andrew Symington’s Edradour Distillery; stop for lunch at the 17th century Moulin Hotel, Pitlochry; journey back to Glasgow for 17.00.

The cost of lunches, flights and transfers are not included in the above.
